![]() You can't set markers everywhere or when you do, your character gets stuck on climbing things. I personally found the controls on keyboard and mouse very frustrating. What the hell does "sleepy time gal" mean? What the hell does "bobcat tail" mean?! ![]() It doesn't help that there's basically a lot of just random chatter among the friends, just basic information about the island itself and army and then some chatter of ghosts who can't even form proper sentences. Obviously it's a supernatural story so it's never going to make much sense, but I had no idea it was about the submarine crew that sank until like my third playthrough when I actually went to collect all the letters. I had no clue what the hell was happening. Nothing is obvious about the story, you need to figure it all out. Since your character needs to figure everything out, nothing is written in stone. It started off quite funny and cute with a couple friends arguing so I thought that was gonna be the game, then it got real spooky with the creepy flickering eyes in the window and people disappearing. I was freaked out all the way through my first playthrough. I didn't realize it was a supernatural thriller. I hadn't read the synopsis nor seen the tags. I had no idea what to expect when I started playing this game. Lengthy review: This will contain spoilers. +- Although I don't really like it, the visuals and the music are good and really set the right atmosphere + The characters are fun, they have a good dynamic and fun interactions + There's a good amount of comedic scenes I catch myself wondering at some points, "wait, why am I here again? Why didn't we just-" and I don't find the answer ![]() I feel like there's a lack of logic in some story elements. Replaying it is easier now that I know what to expect, but still. I personally hated that heavy themes got thrown at the player without warning - like I said, I went into this game blind and I regret it. I still don't understand the full story (maybe that's the point? I hate it) I have replayed this story like 7 times or whatever. it then sucks when you get options and you still want to say something that isn't there + I like being offered so many options of dialogue, however The map and the connection of sceneries makes no sense in my head and is very confusing searching for radio spots or radio channels can feel endlessly tiring because it's not quite clear where it is + Searching for info on the radio is kinda fun, like searching for easter eggs, however I personally hate that dialogue gets cut off at the 'end' of a level or at specific interaction moments. ![]() Like, going back up, going back down, going back up, going back down Especially climbing gets stuck a lot when you set a marker. I mean, this works – but not ideal. Either way, I ended up not using the included charger and use our Ugreen GaN chargers instead because it works the same as the original charger and has more ports to charge other things.- The walking on KBM is sometimes very awkward. I’m not sure why ROG gave us this instead of the ROG Phone’s charger which is more compact and also has a detachable cable. It’s a 65W charger that is from their laptops. The charger is also something that I want to mention here. I spent the entire duration of the flight playing Tears of the Kingdom on my Switch while plugged into the plane’s USB charging port. 60HzĮither way, because of this bad battery life, I brought my Nintendo Switch to Taipei for Computex instead of the ROG Ally. No idea what’s happening here – it could be the benchmark’s limitation or it could be that the refresh rate just doesn’t matter. The battery life is essentially the same. One might think that decreasing it to 60Hz will make the battery last longer, right? I redid the benchmarks again and surprisingly, no. It is absolutely atrocious – but I should reveal one more piece of data, these results are at 120Hz refresh rate. This is how long the Ally will last in each power profile locked at 100 nits brightness. Oxenfree – that indie game that I played at 15W power profile – the battery life is at about an hour and that’s it. Yeah, I barely made it in time to finish my daily commissions and spent all my resin. Genshin Impact at Turbo Mode on battery lasts less than an hour. That 40W battery in the Ally is just insufficient. But, if we play using the lowest graphical settings, then we can even get 60fps even when on battery.Īnd this is where I want to talk about the problems I encountered with the ROG Ally. On Turbo mode, I can run it at the highest graphical settings and get about 40fps even in the new desert area. Genshin Impact is another game that I tried on the Ally.
